FAQ

Questions we
hear often.

Answers to what prospective clients ask before deciding to reach out. If your question is not here, contact us directly.

Working with Darkveil

Corporations, law firms, private equity firms, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and principals and their families. We do not work with every client who reaches out. We assess fit before every engagement and only take work we can execute at the standard our clients expect.
Submit an inquiry through our contact form. We review every submission personally and respond within one business day if there is a potential fit. You do not need to share sensitive details to start a conversation. The initial discussion is high level and confidential.
No. All communications are treated as confidential from first contact, before any paperwork is signed. Formal confidentiality documentation is executed before substantive work begins, not before an initial conversation.
Depends on scope and current availability. Project-based engagements typically begin within one to two weeks of scope confirmation. Guardian coverage can begin within days. Timeline is discussed during scoping.
Yes. We conduct engagements globally without restrictions on geography or jurisdictional complexity. If your situation involves multiple countries or regions, that is something we discuss during scoping.

Guardian Coverage

Guardian is our ongoing intelligence and security relationship. Rather than a one-time assessment, Guardian provides continuous monitoring and suppression across your digital footprint and physical environment. It is designed for clients who want persistent coverage rather than periodic check-ins.
A security audit is a point-in-time assessment. It tells you what your exposure looks like today. Guardian is continuous. New data broker listings appear constantly. New threat actors emerge. Travel creates new physical exposure. Guardian coverage addresses all of this as it happens, not after the fact.
Yes. Many clients cover an executive team, a founding family, or a group of principals under a single scoped engagement. Pricing reflects the number of principals and the depth of coverage required. We discuss this during scoping.
Three months. Continuous protection requires time to establish baselines and suppress existing exposure. Anything shorter does not give us enough runway to deliver meaningful results.
A structured briefing covering: changes to your digital footprint over the period, any new or emerging threats relevant to your profile, physical security observations from the quarter, and recommended adjustments to your current posture. Delivered in a format suitable for both principals and advisors.

Confidentiality

All communications are confidential from first contact, before any agreement is signed. We do not publish case studies or disclose client relationships under any circumstances. Zero data is retained post-engagement unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
Never. Not by name, not by industry, not by implication. This is not a policy we apply selectively. Past engagements are never referenced without written authorization.
Zero footprint post-engagement is our standard. All data collected or produced during an engagement is handled per the terms of the confidentiality agreement. Unless a client requests otherwise in writing, we retain nothing after the engagement closes.
Yes. Secure communications are available from the start of an engagement. Mention it in your initial inquiry.

Scope and Pricing

No. Every engagement is scoped individually based on the number of principals, depth of coverage, geographic footprint, and risk profile. Published tiers exist on the services page as a rough guide to structure, but pricing is always provided after an initial conversation where we understand your actual situation.
Number of principals covered, depth of digital and physical coverage required, geographic scope, complexity of the threat environment, frequency of briefings, and whether active ECLIPSE deployment is included. We discuss all of this during scoping and provide a clear proposal before any commitment is made.
Both. Security audits and assessments, social engineering training programs, and one-time OSINT profiles are all available as standalone project-based engagements. Guardian is our continuous coverage offering for clients who want ongoing protection. Many clients begin with a project engagement and transition to Guardian once they see their actual exposure.
Yes. Many clients begin with a focused engagement, a single OSINT profile, a facility assessment, or a phishing simulation, and expand the scope once the relationship is established. We accommodate this without requiring a long-term commitment upfront.

ECLIPSE

ECLIPSE is Darkveil's counter-surveillance platform. It provides real-time detection of active surveillance near principals, facilities, or sensitive locations. Available as part of Guardian Full coverage or as a standalone sweep engagement.
RF transmitters, GPS trackers, unauthorized WiFi and Bluetooth devices, rogue access points, and drone Remote ID broadcasts. Detection is passive and real-time, with results streamed to a secure dashboard.
Yes. Counter-surveillance sweeps using ECLIPSE are available as standalone engagements for facilities, residences, vehicles, or travel routes. Contact us to discuss scope.
Discreetly. Deployment details are discussed during engagement scoping and are not published. The platform is portable and designed for unobtrusive field use.
