Darkveil operates at the intersection of intelligence tradecraft and protective security. Our clients have real adversaries, and this work requires practitioners who have operated under those same conditions.

We recruit almost exclusively from the intelligence and special operations communities. Not because of the credentials, but because the operational standard those environments demand translates directly to what our clients need from us.

The team is small by design. Every practitioner we bring on affects the quality of every client relationship.

Who we hire.

We hire almost exclusively from the intelligence and special operations communities. Former CIA, DIA, NSA, FBI, JSOC, SAS, and equivalent international services. What unites them is not the acronym on their resume but the operational standard they were held to.

Verifiable operational background

We verify. Former intelligence or special operations professionals with documented service and a clear track record. Security certifications alone are not a substitute for having actually done the work under real conditions.

Practitioner-level judgment

The ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous, high-stakes situations without supervision. This is not a skill that can be taught in an onboarding process. It is developed through years of operational experience.

Discretion as a default

The professionals we hire already operate this way. They do not discuss their work or their clients outside of appropriate channels. We do not enforce this as a policy. It is a standard we expect before the first conversation.

Who we recruit.

We recruit from the intelligence community and special operations. Elite law enforcement backgrounds are considered where relevant. If you have a proven operational track record and are considering the private sector, we want to hear from you.

A note on background requirements Security certifications and academic credentials alone are not sufficient. We look for verifiable operational experience at a professional or government level. All backgrounds are verified before any engagement proceeds.
Areas of interest
OSINT and Digital Intelligence Deep profiling, data broker ecosystems, social footprint analysis, threat actor research. Intelligence background preferred.
Physical Security and Close Protection Facility assessments, protective advances, high-risk travel security. Special operations or protection service background required.
Adversarial Simulation and Red Team Social engineering, physical penetration, pretexting. Intelligence or special operations background required.
Technical Surveillance and Counter-Surveillance RF, signals analysis, field deployment, TSCM operations. Technical intelligence or special operations background required.
Security Assessments and Intelligence Analysis Attack surface analysis, threat assessment, adversarial red teaming. Intelligence analysis or offensive operations background preferred.
Client Relations and Advisory Senior advisory relationships with corporate, legal, and family office clients. Must have operational security background. Former senior intelligence or law enforcement officers only.
